Is there a way of saving layout setting in word so that if someone else opens Word and changes your font, view size and toolbar placement settings, it will change back to what it was if you close and reopen the the Word program?

Sure, for Office 2003 and earlier it comes with a "Save My Settings" tool that is installed when you install Office / Word. That doesn't exist in Office 2007 of course because the toolbars cannot be changed.

I used the built in tool for years whenever I did a clean install. I'd load up my saved settings and my toolbar customizations would be restored to the way I liked them.
