I HAD 2 of them that I got in a trade but oddly enough, the brand new never been used before one needed an RMA due to obvious damage received during shipping, so I'm running just one of them right now and I really have to say that as much as I loved my EVGA 8800GTS 640MB card this thing just ROCKS!!!!

I'm currently running it at stock speeds which registers on RivaTuner as:

663.43 core
1674.00 shader
950.40 memory

I'll try over clocking soon but currently on 1 card @ stock I get just short of 12k in 3dMark06, with the fan at 60%, idle temps are 39C and after 2 hours of Crysis @ 1280x1024 with everything on high max temp was 54C and the game ran smooth as silk (with the side of my case removed idle was 37C and load was 52C). The after market cooling (Zalman I think) does an extraordinary job as not only does it keep the card cool, but it's also very, very quiet. One possible draw back is the fact that the cooling solution does not do anything for the cards memory and I don't think you could fit ram sinks under the HSF to cool it.. on the other hand, I have yet to get the memory to so much as feel overly warm to the touch much less hot.

At $186 after rebate these things are an absolutely AWESOME DEAL!!!

I love my msi..its probly the best 8800gt on the market...i easily oc'd it to 715core/999mem temps were around 40 idle 55-60 full load..i had it at 750 core stable but i dont want to stress my card for an extra 100 points on 3dmark..my highest score was 12200 on 3dmark..

I used to love MSI cards, but I won't buy one now adays....If they change their warranty period, and offered other perks, then I might give them a try again. But I won't sacrifice clock speeds for better support...

Yeah, I'm looking at that very card. Really torn between it and their 9600GT at the moment.

the 9600GT is just an 8800 die shrink... over clock the 8800GT to the same speeds and the extra stream processors allow you to really kick the 9600GT off to the side.

I like how everyone with an 8800gt is bashing the 9600gt.

9600gt is far more than just a simple die shrink. In addition to being more efficient it also includes neat things like PureVideo 2.

I thought the g94 was just g92's reject bin? Not a shrink of any kind.

They are the same part True or False ?

If you mean a g80 shrink then fine.

I thought the same thing, the g94's were g92's that wern't good enough.

MSI makes some sexy hs&f's, thats about their only advantage at this point, o and the fact the they might be able to clock higher.

Well, I installed the latest Rivatuner, but it only allows me to change the fan speed in 3D and not 2D, which isn't that big of deal, but I've never seen 2D greyed out before. I turned the 3D fan speed up to 60%. Doubt I need it any higher than that.

Only other problem I'm having, could be a driver issue, is my monitor won't power off after 1 hour under the Screen Saver / Power settings.

Other than that, so far so good. Only game I've tested so far is NHL 07 which runs great at 1600x1200. Oh, and Star Wars Republic Commando. Shame you have turn Bump Mapping to Low to get it to run with the 8 series cards. Hope to pick-up CoD4 this weekend.

Well, after having this card a couple of weeks now and playing some games, all I can say is that it is an okay card. It surely doesn't compare to my old 8800GTS 640MB card I had last Fall. Rainbow Six: Vegas struggles, but that may be due to my crappy CPU. I miss my old card and my Opty. :(

I hope to be upgrading mobo/cpu/ram soon. Time for Intel Core 2 Duo I believe. ;) And time for SLI.

Sorry, it's a good card, I think my problem is my cpu. Won't know for sure until that changes.
