I recently bought a Geforcefx 5200 128mb, and am having problems, it keeps freezing/locking up while i am playing games such as Battlefield 1942, Americas Army and others, anyone knows what might be causing this, and also, how much better is FX 5600 then 5200, both non ultra, thnx alot.

The 5200 is indeed a budget minded card.

Read that article, it goes into the details of each. As far as your problems, please supply us with more information about your system, such as motherboard, cpu, OS, display drivers, etc. That way we'll be able to analyze your problem more closely.

Everything the above poster wrote, with an added "the 5600 is a LOT better than the 5200" (I'm pretty sure, I've heard some awful things about the 5200 so I can't see how it couldn't be. ;) )

First of all.

WHY DID YOU BUY YOUR VIDEO CARD FROM EBAY.

Second of all, dont eat McDonolds, its bad for you!

Finaly, id see if they can give you a refund, and try to get a cheep Gf4 Ti4200, ive seen them on specials for 80-100$. Id take that over a GeforceFX 5600.

LOTS, get it! Ignore this "McDonald's" talk and go get that 4600!!!!

I just picked up a Gainward GF4 ti4400 recently to upgrade my GF3 and I am loving it...and from all reports I've read/remember the 4600 is a much better (and more solid!) than your 5200, by a LARGE margin!

GET IT! GET IT! GET IT! GET IT!

(I feel strongly on this one, can ya tell?)

both the ti4200 and ti4600 are faster in most tests than the fx5600

What's the point in buying a 5200 anyhow? Price? Kick back savet the 20-40 dollar difference and buy a 4200. There isn't one benchmark where 4200 doesn't spank it, not to mention there are no DX9 games out at all!!! All you can do with a 5200 is complain about how slowly 3dMark2003 chugs on it.

5600 spanks 4200 especialy with AA on.
It's the 5200 that gets owned(duu 70$ card)
let's make that clear.
