So these are the ones that enable CrossFireX... anybody have any feedback as to how well it performs? I'm curious as to how well dual 3870X2s perform to be more precise.

Well I don't have Crossfire but I did see a gain of about 15fps in Company of Heroes running in DirectX 10 mode on my single 3870.

Seems they need to improve with DX10 Performance. Two of the charts didn't appear for Crysis for some reason... just got red Xs. :( I'm hoping DX9 performance for Crysis is up to par with the rest of the games in regards to scaling. So far I do like what I'm seeing. Think I'll be getting dual X2s. :D

I'm not interested in 3DMark numbers, but games, c'mon guys

+1.

It seems that 3dmark06 scores are more CPU dependent anyways. If I overclock my stock Quad 2.4 to 3.0, I get like 1,000 more points.

Did you guys check that firing squad review? For the most part, Quad and Mixed CrossFire scaled very nicely. Only let down was in DX10 where there was virtually no scaling at all- 4 cards (2x 3270X2s) performed identical to a single 3870. :( Hopefully a driver issue.

Crytek is reporting that ATI users can receive a 15% performance increase with ATI's new Catalyst Driver 8.3 for DX10.
Some great news for any user of an ATI graphics card. Yesterday AMD released the new ATI Catalyst™ Driver 8.3 for Microsoft Windows, which should give you an up to 15% performance boost for Crysis under DirectX 10.

I can confirm that there are improvements to Direct3D 10 speed pretty much across the board. Every DirectX 10 game I've tried on my single HD3870 has shown a framerate improvement. AMD's VLIW architecture is finally starting to show some benefits now that the driver team has started working full throttle on optimizations.

People are also reporting improvements in DirectX 9 games.

Somewhat ironically, 3DMark scores are down by a lot with the new drivers. Perhaps 3DMark isn't as representative of a real-world gaming scenario as people like to think.

I looked at your score for dual 3870x2's. I was wondering if these drivers are helping them scale better in Crysis and other games.

So how is Crysis with CrossfireX?

After patch 1.2 much better, almost no fps dips and ~20-25 fps in 1600x1200 16AF 4XAA in dx10 very high.

Here are other scores I have in my Orb database. I fried teh 780i board so I cannot do another TRI-SLI build until I get another one . . .that test was RIGHT after its release before the good drivers were out.

I only have 1.1 patch . . .need to get 1.2. By teh way, been using an I3ZD monitor with Crossfire X . . .w00t. Works like a charm. COD4 in 3d . . .sweet. Crysis was choppy so hopefully the new drivers will take care of that.

Anyone who has a 10.1 card should try setting the TesselationFactor in the bioshock.ini up and see if it does anything. Try setting it to 2 or higher.

Not that it would matter since the Tesselation unit is not part of Dx10.1.
