I woke yesterday morning to find that my mouse (mx1000 laser) had finaly died on me after being dodgy for the last few days. The mouse has served me quite well and i was very dubious about getting a replacement......

I have had my eye on the logitech mx revolution mouse for some time now and almost purchased it a few month ago but due to reports explaining that the mouse isnt quite upto scratch as some of the other new mice were gaming was concerned, i decided to give it a miss.

I had to make a choice this morning and i considered the G9 laser.....my first impressions were "oh fook me thats ugly", but after reading the reviews it is supposedly 1 of the comfiest mouse, best performing and also packed to the brim with software features....i decided that seeing as my hand will be on it most of the time i will dismiss the ugliness of it...and so i bought it.

I got it home and took it out the box.....it wasn't anywhere near as ugly as i first thought from the pics (which just dont do it justice), i left the widegrip on the mouse as i like the thumbrest and i installed 22g of weights into the cartridge as i like the heavy feel due to using a cordless mouse, then i set up a gaming profile within the mouse at 1600DPI (on the fly with 5 settings of 200, 800, 1600, 2000 and 3200dpi) at 1000 report rate, i loaded up cod4 and was amazed at how flirty the mouse was...after 10 mins i was getting used to it and the mouse feels absolutly awesome...i have had razor mice before too but none of them (nearly bought the lachesis as well) come close to the G9.

Verdict:- By far the best mouse i have had in the palm of my hand...ever.

Wow I must say that the G9 has tons of eye candy!! How does it compare to the G5 and Mx518?
I was a die hard 518 fan for 3 years, then I tried the G5 and loved it! Is it worth it? :captnkill:

Yeah I purchased the G9 and the new G15 keyboard when they first were released. The G9 is the best mouse that I have ever had. :captnkill:

I tried the G9 and while it is a good mouse. It just didn't suit me. So therefore my balls tell me that it sucks my balls. ::(:

I just keep replacing my MX1000s with MX1000s. Onto my 3rd now. ::D:

I liked the drivers and looks. Even the feel of the mouse is great. But I couldn't get the timing or control down on anything higher than 800dpi. Seemed like a waste of money coming off a mx500. 800 dpi is all you need imo.

Yeah, when i had it I had it set at 800DPI and configured the - and + buttons for other things. ::D:

I tend to whack the setting upto 1600DPI and then slow the mouse speed down thus giving me high resolution at a speed i can handle. :)

Just bought this mouse after my hardy MX1000 finally lost a leg (one of the feet fell off and I couldn't find it for the life of me).

The G-9 is by far the most awesome mouse I have ever used :D But, I have an issue. The scroll wheel is simply not sampling.

Apparently it works when I move the wheel to the left and then scroll but otherwise, nada. I've read a number of people having scroll issues with this mouse so I wanted to found it if it was something anyone else has experienced.

I am working on a replacement but if it is a software issue, I am more than happy to go that route instead :)

Is free-wheel mode on? Try the mode swtich located at the bottom.

Went from mx518 to a g9, wasn't impressed at all, I'll stick with my death adder.

Nah, it was just a broken wheel.

I figured out that if I tilted it to the left, it worked fine, if not, it was not scrolling.

Took it back and got a brand new one that works. :)

Love it :D

Not quite as revolutionary as my MX revolution but it's better for gaming than the MX.

G9 is the best mouse ever. Use it at 2400 dpi in Windows. Very comfortable grip :)

Yeah, just got mine in Monday from Amazon (50 bucks brand new)... taking some getting use to, but it feels awesome... the mouse wheel feels really weird at first... but I will get used to it after a little while longer. Great mouse, though.... 2400 DPI seems good for me... tried 3200 but it seemed insane... might try to move my way up gradually lol.
