We've seen the pics of the 9800GTX bare card, here are the first pics of the 9800GTX with all it's gear on, pity the specs. don't match the looks..........
Benchmarked in 3DMark06 here....http://forums.vr-zone.com/showthread.php?t=245701

You've seen its heart and soul earlier this week but today is the day we can get a good look at the upcoming GeForce 9800 GTX in full battle gear. Posing in a super secret, secret room at CeBIT the GeForce 9800 GTX is powered by the 65nm G92-420 chip and is slated for a release on March 25th.

As you can see from the photos below the card's cooling system covers the whole front of the PCB with the only ones popping out being the SLI (triple-SLI ready) and (two 6-pin) power connectors. The 9800 GTX is clocked at 675, 1688 and 2200 MHz for the GPU, 128 Stream Processors and memory and has a 256-bit interface so 8800 GTX owners can happily keep their cards until at least summer.

Yes they did, but the design was taken from the reference card, the GeForce 7 series originally had those markings as in the pic below.......

Ahh, that 7800GTX looks so small by todays standards, it's a shame the direction cooling and PCB size have gone.

It is something on my end. My work blocks some sites here so I can't see them. That is why I needed them rehosted.

This 8800gtx I bought in November of 06 has turned out to be a rather great investment. Going on 2 years strong. :) :(

If the specs that have been mentioned so far are correct, why the hell would it need 2x6pin power supply.

I am not amused by this.

When do the g100's come out? :(

Wow, that is a sexy, sexy card.

It's a shame it's so fracking big, though. Pretty soon people are going to start needing special cases (as well as portable nuclear reactors) if they want to own one of these. :o

I'll bet you it much quicker than the 8800GTX even though the specs of the card are meh. I mean look at the 9600GT. The specs aren't that great and its only 10% slower than the 8800GT.

I agree, I think that it's way more than just a die shrink, they did some major overhauling inside that core, alongside with some optimizations, you get the 9 series.

It looks like the gt200 (g100) will luach sometime this summer, along side the r700. I am positive nvidia won't let ati take the performance crown back with out putting a new product on the market.

I am so torn on this. I have around 25 days left on my step up (8800 SSC GTS 112SP) and can't help but think if the GTX is released at $400US, it may be worthwhile to grab one. I seriously doubt any more than another $70-$80 would come out of my pocket.

Tough decision - But the increase over a GTS should be pretty good...heck, I dunno! :( :o
