Look like Geforce 9800GTX going to be an amazing card with fantastic overclocking potential. Uni tested a single card overclocked to 850MHz on stock cooling running 100% fan speed scored 16,444 3DMark 06. :)

I'd like to see someone with a GTX or Ultra post what their gfx scores are for a decent comparison. Looks good though.
One time overclock? I don't think it can be healthy for the card to be running at that speed on Crysis...card would melt.

Those clocks are in-line with other overclocked GTS512 cores I have seen. My Ultra's max clocks are 729/1836/2484 and it scores SM2.0 7014 - SM3.0 7313.

There is a huge difference in the SM2.0...
wow, that's a hooooooj shader OC. I would expect even better results as the drivers mature. If the price is right, this card could be worth an upgrade after all. SM4.1 too, so free 4xAA :)
What i'd like to see is a maxed out Crysis test with 4xAA at 1680 x 1050 in SLI, with cards OC'd (8800GTX vs 9800GTX). For me a test like this would be the decision maker

Yes I noticed. It looks like nVIDIA has further optimized the G80 architecture and used it on 9 series. I was reading Techreport's 9600GT review, the 9600GT is just a tad bit slower than 8800GT in resolutions/aa/af settings it has been targeted to operate at, yet it has half the number of stream processors compared to 8800GT.
It feels like the 7 series again where nVIDIA optimized the last gen (6 series) design and engineered more performance out of it while the G80 was getting ready to drop everyone's jaw to the floor.
I hope that GT200 will be the same big hit that G80 was.
Looks the same as my score :( Not too impressive, lol.

Nope. Even if it was SM4.1, no API can give you free anything.
Can't say I'm too impressed with that. I'd start raising an eyebrow if the score was 20k or more. Hopefully the GT200 can deliver.

If your score is under vista 64 add 700 points or so to make it comparable with win xp scores. I haven't really tried Vista 64 but that is the case for most people when using Vista32/WinXP.
That 9800GTX 3dmark06 bench was done using a dual core though. If that 9800GTX 3dmark06 run was performed with an OCed quad core, total score would have ranged approximately somewhere between ~18150 ~18350 depending on CPU clocks (3.7-4 GHz) and memory timings.
i got 16720 in 06 CPU 3.6 gfx 750 mem 2500 no 9800gtx fore me:thumbdwn:
On that link if u go to the next page you will see him with 19k score

Yep with a quad core(qx9650), he gets above 1900 on 3dmark06. Once they release some decent drivers, you could hit 20,000-21,000 easily. Now imagine going tri sli with three of these bad boys, ya thats what I thought. I just creamed in my jeans.

Wow that link wasnt here yesterday, it seemed article updated with new benchmark. 19,016 3DMark 06 for a single Geforce 9800GTX on quad core QX9650.

Amazing score closer to 20,000 3DMark 06 for a single card. :D

Yeah JakUP has 3 Geforce 8800 Ultra cards in SLi with 4.4GHz QX6850 scored 21,950 3DMark 06. I think he will cream and also soil in his jean.

Tri-SLI is less potent when running 3DMark at <default> settings plus it works under vista only wich hurts the final score.
JakUp's rig will cream single or dual card setups when running 3Dmark06 1920x1200 x4AA/x16AF or higher levels of AA. If I am not mistaken he also doesnt change the stock cooler on his graphics cards and cannot clock his cards on par with watercooled ones.
19,000 still isn't a very impressive score. A single 8800 GTX can probably get that score with out a whole heck of a lot of over clocking at all when paired with a Quad core @ 4500mhz
if i could get my Q6600 stable @ 4.5Ghz My score should be 20k in 06:thumbdwn:

Along with that 8k score in sm 2.0 -.-?

I think that might also be part of why the 9800GTX doesn't paint a great picture in 3dmark06, it is probably so CPU limited that once you turn up the resolution the 9800GTX might scale better versus older cards. I can't wait until we see benchmarks for COD4 or WiC which will tax the GPU more.

WHAT A CARD, for $199
without even trying hard, I got 887 and 2218, 1233, 100 (on a full fan speed),
with evGA OC software, easy to use and very stable.
hard to believe, got Antec 650 Trio Power supply, of course to go with it

My numbers - 887, 2218, 1233, 100 with EVGA own OC software.
Easy and stable, what a card

This isnt even relevant, 3dmark06 is cpu bound. Use a real benchmark.
