View Full Version : Chewbie set for Star Wars return
http://www.cnn.com/2003/SHOWBIZ/Movies/04/28/film.starwars.reut/index.html
George Lucas is bringing back the classic characters Chewbacca the Wookiee, C-3PO and R2-D2 for the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode III."
The director has already hired actors Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker to reprise their respective roles as sprightlier versions of their characters for the prequel in preproduction.
All three actors have donned costumes in past "Star Wars" episodes, and in the case of Daniel and Baker, they have loaned their voice talents to puppet and motion-control versions of their characters.
Lucas has noted in the past that having Baker inside the R2-D2 suit brought "an element of humanity" to the character.
The film, whose full title has not yet been disclosed, is scheduled for a May 25, 2005, release.

I liked all three of the original movies. The last two have definitely left me disappointed. Though I did enjoy the fight scenes, that alone won't save a movie.
You know what I think? George Lucas needs to get off his arrogant ass and see if he can't get some people make the movie for him who would do a better job, such as allow Stephen Spielberg to direct it (I believe he directed The Empire Strikes Back?), if he hasn't totally burned that bridge.
But no, Lucas is such an arrogant prick that it's going to be, "his way or the highway," and the third movie is also going to suck. As a matter of principle, I'm starting to think I should get an illegal version just so I don't pay any more money for a crappy movie (I have to watch it...even though I definitely expect disappointment).

Episode 1 was ass. Episode 2 was good. Episode 3 sounds better than both already. :D
And who is this "chewbie" that you speak of? I know no chewbie. :D

Agreed, the original three (and I mean original, not that special edition stuff) are very good movies.
Empire was directed by Irvin Kershner http://us.imdb.com/Title?0080684
You're right though that Lucas needs someone else to direct the next one, the last 2 were really bad.

The best part of the last two movies were the end credits and Yoda vs Dooku.

Looks like I got it a bit mixed up...Spielberg worked with Lucas on the Indiana Jones series.

Hehe ;)
Of course, it's precisely because we're all fans of Star Wars that we're so disappointed in the last two movies.
