uname -a
FreeBSD fozzy.slippingaway.org 7.0-STABLE FreeBSD 7.0-STABLE #12: Thu Mar 6 10:39:29 PST 2008

If I download the driver(169.12) and try to install it I get this error:

nv-freebsd.h:25:2: error: #error This driver does not support FreeBSD 7.x/-CURRENT!

And if I try from ports I get this error:

# cd /usr/ports/x11/nvidia-driver
# make
===> nvidia-driver-169.07 needs an X server implementation installed.
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/x11/nvidia-driver.

I have the latest xorg built from ports, in fact it is running right now.... What do I need to do to install the nvidia driver??

Anyone? It sucks running the open source driver just to get X11 working.

What does this show: pkg_info -O x11-servers/xorg-server

Here is what I get:
The following installed package(s) has x11-servers/xorg-server origin:
xorg-server-1.4_6,1

If you run 'make missing" in the port, does it show anything?

Also, what does this show: pkg_info -W /usr/local/bin/X

I get:
/usr/local/bin/X was installed by package xorg-server-1.4_6,1
