Very true; I liked Ernest Saves Christmas, I think. Lots of influences from Fellini all through that

movie... and Terence Malick produced it IIRC. I was shocked that it didn't get the Palm d'Or at

Cannes.

That I can agree on. I supremely enjoyed the subtle nuances of Varney's performance. He achieved what most actors can only begin to comprehend, by that of course I mean he accurately portrayed the hard working American and at the same time symbolized Jesus Christ.


Best movie to watch stoned is The Wizard of Oz, muted, with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon playing synced to the 2nd lion roar. Some will argue the 3rd to match up the money intro a little better, but that throws off a lot of other stuff.

WoZ is good... I vaguely remember an argument about which lion's roar to start the album on one time.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is another good one.

The 1950s Alice in Wonderland cartoon is good. Original Willy Wonka is good too as long as you have candy.. If you don't have candy it's pretty much a form of torture.

A friend of mine could fast forward through The Doors movie stopping only at the scenes with nudity by memory. That was my favorite way of watching it... Then his vcr broke :(. Probably because of all the fast forwarding.
