I have a Seagate Barracuda 500gb 7200.11
"ST3500320AS (465 GB)"

The hard drive will be working and then everything will freeze for exactly 1 second. Then I hear the hard drive do a faint sounding click and then it'll start working on things again.

Weird...

Sounds like it's getting ready to bite the dust. Backup while you can.

RMA.

HDDs should NOT make loud clicking noises.

Yikes! Not a message you wanna see pop-up. I got a similar message to that when using my brother's computer, but it turned out to be a heat issue. The HDD was ungodly hot and ran like crap. I stuck a fan under it at full 12v with the exhaust fan at a full 12v and seems to have made a huge difference. Of course, his two HDDs sit right on top of each other in his Compaq. Yuck.

Remember, just because a PC part is new, doesn't mean it can't go bad at any given time. ;)

I was just lucky I used SpinRite (to see what was wrong) a few hours before.
