yea I dunno what to think of that either... It would be nice if there wasn't a 5fps difference between his two tests at the same settings.

I think one is stock clock and one is overclocked 850 mhz core.

Seems the 9800 GTX default clocks are rather conservative. Almost 175MHz over clock on the core and 300+mhz on the shader?

Stick it with the thermalright aftermarket cooler or a watercooling setup..hmm

doesn't look like we'll be cranking the settings up at any sort of resolution any time soon :(

Hopefully the GX2 will do better than that!
Well now that it is somewhat safe to say that the 9800 GTX is just a higher clocked G92 it is very likely that the GX2 will do better then that. It wont be able to deliver the highres+AA though because it is simply 2 G92 SLId on one card and 2x G92 cannot do that.

It looks like crysis will be a GPU killer for quite a while longer.

Not impressive :thumbdwn:

on a side note i get around 40fps where he gets 55fps. but again thats with noAA perhaps the performance hit will be bigger once AA is applied.

Hey look, it does a whopping 4 fps at 1680x1050 w/ 8xQ! :rofl (rofl2)
Taking an 8800gts and writing 9800gtx on it doesn't make it any faster.

definitely not impressive, **** THE 9800GX2 and GTX, such a letdown, bring on the next generation GT200!

With my 8800GTX, in 1920x1080, same settings, I got an average of 26, min 18.76 and max 32.23 vs average of 29 for the 9800GTX

And I'm in Vista, the 8800gtx is not overclock and my CPU is E8400 o/c to 3.6 !

The 9800GTX results simply sucks !!! :thumbdwn:

That is disapointing if that is the results ,I guess I will hang on to what I have for a little longer.

If you're aware that this is a product refresh there's no reason to be surprised by these results. The best we can do is force a completely new line by not upgrading our 8800 series cards. ;)

Ya I'm not judging it until a set a review over at bit-tech.

So the NDA is suppose to be lifted on the 18th(the gx2), thats when the reviews will be aloud to published, but will we be able to buy one on newegg that day?

Hmm if the price wasn't too much higher than the 8800 GTS 512 it wouldn't be too bad. I'd like to see how two in SLI run Crysis

Are Nvidia resting on their laurels or are they just waiting for Ati to show their hand?

Yes, that or simply buying a 3870x2! :D

I'll only wait until next monday for any *reliable* reviews, i.e. *not* made on nforce mobos where they can pull their cheap trick :thumbdwn:

damn it i want to know what the 9800GX2 and 9800GTX do in Crysis at 1280x1024 as that is what i play at i ma not interested in 1920x1080 or so as i canīt play at that rez so a 1280x1024 would have been nice to see

but i donīt even know what is good at 1600x1200 or 1900xwhatever i mean since i canīt play at those resolutions

but i will be playing crysis on me 40" sony via dvi->hdmi and the rez will be 1366x768 or something like xxx x180i/50 donīt know if the graphics will look better on a 40" LCD Tv than on a 17" tft@1280x1024?
