Hi guys. I am changing my 320gts only becouse changing display to 22.
What 1gb gt do you recommend ?(talking about those cheaper ones)
I am going to oc manually btw.

What about this asus(Is that zalman fan) ? Anyone tested it? is the fan adjustable? noise etc.
I heard that zalmans fans installed on gt(well at least on gigabyte) are laud and not adjustable.

Save the money and get the 512mb. The 1gb doesn't give much advantage due to the smaller width memory bus. My 320 does fine with my 22. The only thing I have to do sometimes is drop the AA down one notch or run with High instead of Very High texture settings.

I am mainly using 1440x900 .With my 320 its hitching when 4xaa and 8xaf in newer games.
But anyway I have to get rid of this 320. Its bugged gpu ever.

Anyay what 512 do you recommend .THERE IS PLENTY OF THOSE.
I readed that gigabyte with zalmans fan is ****ed up due to loud and not adjustable fan.
Is asus (with non-nvidia fan) any good?
btw.I am mainly asking about asus cards becouse those are cheapest in Poland

Isn't 1680x1050 native and 1440x900 non-native?
You will most likely run the best in your native resolution.
I use 1680x1050 and don't experience any hitching with the settings you talk about unless I have the textures set too high like I mentioned before.

Use Rivatuner while playing a game to check GPU memory usage and then tailor your settings to that.

My only experiences have been with BFG and EVGA, both of which I will recommend.

I play all my games @ 1920x1200 with AA and AF, and even @ that resolution 512MB is enough.

I recommend the MSI 8800GT OC BTW. Has better and more silent cooling on it than the "stock" GT's.

I am using 1440x900 becouse of overal smoothnes over 1680x1050 which Is way too sharp and hurt my eyes :D

What about fan? Stock nvidia or the other one(big fan)? Most of manufacturers offer both.
I will oc so good fan is important

I edited my previous post.

Maybe Gainward should be good also:

But the MSI is cheap, so I would go for that one.

Yes I just readed on hardforums that there is no reason to get 1024mb.
So all I am considering is 512mb now.
Msi looks good but I would get stock and oc myself
and as for gainward It look really GREAT but I am worry about fan. Is it adjustable.

and... Will there be any difference between oced 320 and 512 gt ? (other than 320 is most bugged gpu ever and alt-tab problem :))

You have an sli motherboard so a 1gb card would pair well with another 1gb card later on.

So as not to leave you with just 512mb in sli.

Or does hardforums say 1gb sli is no good?

no no no. I dont want sli. I just want to exchange my 320 for either 512 or 1024.

Hardforums says 1024 is overhyped and I can save money by getting 512 instead.

1GB is pointless in my opinion :) doesn't increase anything except load times.

The tests I've seen on this show it getting the same performace as the 512. Go for the 512.

None. get a 512Mb & save your bucks.

And that is what I will do.
I noticed that BFG and EVGA oced versions are pretty cheap in my local store(cheaper than oced msi) !!!
Also Just saw ZOTAC standard edition have 660 core clocks !!!Which is more than oced EVGA with its 650 clocks and cheaper price for zotac. !!!!!!!!!!!! :captnkill:

edit: Too many of those. As for now I like BFGoc1 EVGAsuperclocked(+crysis gratis) and Zotac standard which is somehow higher clocks than previevous cards and cheaper.

lol,
watch out for the Zotac, got good memory, but with stock cooler.

I went with the Gainward, tho revision 2 I would guess (pcx2) , as it's not stockcooler. Check out there homepage, they got a few models.

Can't speak for Ati, never had one :)

The MSI GT a few folks have been talking about with the nice price and the dual slot cooler is 660 out of the box. If I were buying a new card right now it would be that-

or that-

Like others I'd say skip the 1Gb card.
