After 5 days of trial and improvement, I finally managed to get my system sable after doing quite a lot of overclocking!

Here's what I managed to squeeze out of my machine

CPU

AMD Athlon FX60 originally running at 2.6GHz, OVERCLOCKED to max stable 3.01GHz

CPU Voltage changed from 1.35v to 1.50v

Temps: idle 30-35c load 50-55c

GPU

GeForce 8800GTS 512 (G92) originally running at 650/970/1650mhz

Overclocked and 100% stable to: 800/1000/1930mhz!

Temps: idle 45-48c load 60-65c

RAM

3GB Kingston originally at 200mhz

Overclocked and stable to 220mhz

Added 0.1 of extra voltage

HT bus overclocked to 1053mhz

I've notice a huge improvement!

LOL its took him 5 days to get everything stable and you expect him to mess about setting everything back stock to post benchies only to have to re-overclock to test and do more benchies.

Well he must've benched something before the overclocking! or how would he tell about a huge improvement :wtf:

Depending on the motherboard he has, he can save his current BIOS settings in a profile and just load defaults after.

I've noticed a huge performance hit in general, not only games but also applications and the speed at which windows boots up. I haven't done any benchmarks yet, however, I'm intending to do so.

I almost forget, I've measured the number of fps in Call of Duty 4
All settings maxed out
1440x900 AAx4

I used FRAPS - map: Ambush time: 5.00mins

Before overclocking: min fps:35 max fps:180

After overclocking: min fps:44! maxfps 210!

Not bad! anything that raises your minimum framerate is good.

I can't believe it! After overclocking my 3D mark 06 score jumped from a little over 8000 to 11155!
