i am looking for a software to monitor my Q6600 i think i am over heating but not sure want to know if the prossesor over heats or not so i want to make sure
I use speedfan. The latest version reports the same temps as coretemp and it supports logging with minimal CPU impact. That way you can log the temps and see how hot it got while you were gaming.

just tried this and WOW what an awesome program. :D
it's a very small app and minimizes nicely to the system tray. it also reads directly from the core instead of sensors on the mobo. this is my new temp reading program :D

With latest core temp if you have a Logitech G15 you can have on the LCD panel the readings to monitor while gaming.

I've used all of those aforementioned software, and everest ultimate is by far the best.

Make sure you're logging the temps while you're playing. Alt tabbing or quiting the game can change the CPU usage and temperature significantly. The only way to know for sure what the temp is while playing is to have it recorded in the background.

i had the taskbar open and the temp was showing so i was able to see it while playing That as far as the Pc prossesor, now are you talking about the card? Alt and tab would do that? for the card?
