legionhardware's comparison of the 780i vs 790i seems to be a bit off. Especially the power consumption:

I think it is hothardware that is in the wrong. Techreport shows that the 780i uses more power too: http://techreport.com/articles.x/14350/11

The article has good reasoning why the 790i uses less power, it's the lack of a bridge chip.

The ASUS boards support EPU so reduces power consumpsion. The eVGA does not so uses more power.

But not 70W difference. Techreport only shows 7-15 watts.

Geez we finally are getting some good GPU's for decent prices, yet good motherboards are being priced insanely high. X48's are running $350 to $450+ too, in the U.S anyway.:thumbdwn:
