Why! why would you want to run a server as a workstation. This makes Zero sense!

People have been doing this for windows server 2003 for quite awhile...

Actually, for me personally there is. The 32bit version of Server 2003 R2 actually shows and uses 4GB of memory.

So whats the wrong with using 32 bit vista or xp pro, they also support 4 gigs of ram

They support it, but don't see it all. Task Manager shows only 3-3.5 GB of memory, where as 2003 R2 shows the full 4GB.

Keep in mind that Server 2008 32bit doesn't show 4GB in the task manager, but 2003 R2 does.
