FX 3500 power

I have a quadro FX 3500 I want to install in a dell t7400... the card came with a little pig tail power cord... it has a 6 pin connector at the card end and 2 (4 pin) standard looking power plugs out of two wires (hence the "pigtail")... to go to the computer....

do I plug in one or both power plugs to the computer? IOW, does it need 2 power plugs? or is this intended to provide a pass through to power another card if needed?

aha.... it seems the "pig tail" is an adaptor (for power supplies that have no 6 pin plugs)... and I can ignore it and simply use a 6pin from my power supply...
