I like the LG DVD burners but they have riplock enabled.

Any clue how to remove it for faster ripping?

My Pioneers rip dvd's really fast but need the LG's to do it.

You'll have to search for 'cooked' or hacked firmware for you particular drive. Shouldn't be too hard to find assuming you have a popular drive.

Curious. At what speed does your Pioneers burn DVD-/+Rs? And what speed does your LG burn them?

18 in the pioneer and 20 in the LG.

The LG is Sata so it should rip faster but it takes 10 minutes to rip movies to the drive with pioneer and 20 minutes with the LG.

Weird since both pc's are about the same speed.
