my RAM in sig gave me a WEI score of 4.9 with my HD pulling in a close second last at 5.2, my proc and gpu got 5.9 each. Should I replace my ram? I am running at its default settings, 4-4-4-12-2T at 2.2V

I score 5.9 for everything, ive heard of this happening before quite alot actually, i think its just a vista head fart!

My memory is all at stock 5-5-5-12 on the stock 1.9v & 800MHz = 5.9 subscore.

Overall system Base Score 5.9

Double check with Lavalys Everest, Memory copy benchmark, just should get around 6GB/sec.

You don't need to replace your RAM. The WEI score doesn't limit you in any way, it's just there for information. My brother had a painfully low (2.9 I think) RAM score on his old computer because he had to drop the FSB to run 1.5GB. Even then the 1.5GB at the lower speed (and WEI score) was WAY faster than the 1GB at the higher speed.

it could also be that you only have 2gb. i'm guessing that it's reccomending you have 4gb

Could be that your RAM isn't running in dual channel...

I just did a vista reinstall. I had to remove one of my 2GB sticks and load BIOS defaults to complete the install, and the initial WEI rating gave me a 4.8 ram score. The ram was running at 800MHz 5-5-5-18 single channel, which is what the bios set for default. Once I installed the other stick, and clocked my ram back up to 1000MHz, the score was 5.9.

2GB is fine for WEI, on 2x1GB DDR 500 3-4-4-8 I got 5.9, and on 2x1GB DDR2 1000 4-4-4-5 I got 5.9

This is so normal.

Don't bother racking your brain over this.

I get 5.9 and i have 8 gigs.

Vista is strange like that.

5.9 is the highest score possible
