I don't know what's up with this but when I run Orthos at 3.6GHz, I get a hissing sound coming from my CPU when it reaches 5 minutes. I pin pointed the sound to my processor because I stopped each fan and it seems to be coming from either my CPU or the heatsink. Does anyone know what could be causing the problem or why it's happening? Has anyone had this problem before?

Thanks
-Zap

Do you have a leaky tire? Actually, just out of curiosity do you have a HSF with heatpipes on it? Maybe there's a pinhole leak in it and the air is expanding. It could just be the PWM on the board making noises as well.

High end PC stuff will squeal. It's normal. One of the bigger complaints with early 8800GTXs was the squealing. Nvidia said it was normal. Mine squeals under extreme load, it's it's been running fine for almost 2 years now.

Not much you can do about it though except for replacing the squealing part.

You might want to check for snakes in a pc! If you find some, call Samuel L. Jackson.

Lol. I have 2 heatpipes on my CPU's HSF and 2 heatpipes on my motherboards cooling system. My processors HSF never hissed before.

....ok?

I'd like some non-SLippe language answer. I expect a swift response to this.

They :|? Why would they make such a technology and not do what they say? That's like NASA saying they're going to make a space ship and go into space but they just make regular planes.

I highly doubt it's a water-type substance anyways. It's probably some type of liquid that coagulates once it cools down.
