Anything I ordered that might seem bad? Or something I could have gotten better price/performance? Just curious. I don't follow hardware as close as i use to.

personally i would have gone with thermalright cooler, thermalright makes the best coolers.

not a big fan of the case, but everyone got different taste.

I think they are good choices. Particularly the CPU and motherboard.

+1, thermalright is the absolute best in heatsinks.

I agree 110%, but NewEgg does not carry Thermalright coolers. I only buy my hardware from NewEgg. If NewEgg does not carry it, I do not buy it.

I like the TRUE, one best air cooler availible.

www.sidewindercomputers.com pretty much have all the thermalright products. I've ordered from them before and they ship very fast.

Looks good, exept that mobo won't run past DDR800. I would stick with the mobo and just get some DDR800 instead of the 1066.

I take it you're sticking with the GTX?

I just had a quick look at the mobo specs and it said 667/800. Saying that I had my DDR800 RAM at 1081 on my P5K.

lame. I just realized there is a "Big Typhoon" and a "Big Typhoon VX". Of course I ordered the regular dumb one. Blast you newegg.

How lame is this HSF I ordered? Worth sending back?

same cooler but maybe with a faster fan judging by the cfm rating listed??

VX has clip for amd's so no different for a 775.

The VP on the other hand looks interesting with the extra fan hinge doohikey

Yep. 900 Cable management sux. There is a youtube video where he did a pretty awsome job, anyone can do it at home as well to get it under control. The case rocks otheriwse.

GL with the 8400 btw....i gave up after awhile because it is no where in australia -.-...e6850 was the other option, and prices on the 8400/8xxx sky rocketed as well.

I recently got a similar setup (same cpu and mobo) except I made the mistake of ordering an AC Freezer Pro. I guess I didn't do enough reading up on the motherboard, because there is one minor issue. The northbridge heatsink is so large and so close to the cpu socket that it interferes with some large heatsinks, the Freezer Pro is one of these. Since I ordered the OEM e8400, the box cooler wasn't an option.

I made it work. Had to bend some of the fins on the cpu cooler to make it fit and the fan isn't actually blowing over all the fins (like, two are missing it maybe). I'm pretty sure its effecting temps. At 3.6 (9x400 1.26v) it idles at around 38c and was sitting at 57c after 12 hours of Orthos. Safe or should I back off till I find a cpu cooler that actually fits? >.>

I plan on building a new rig consisting of an E8400 or possibly an E8500(pending price and availability next month) and was planning on going with the Zalman 9700led. Anyone not recomend going with that 1? I have been using Zalman coolers for a long time now and never had a problem. I know the thermal right 120 is the best but for reaching 3.6-3.8 ish do you guys think this isn't the best bet or what? Oh and my case air flow is going to rock as I always make sure of that in my builds, going with a kick ass Stacker830se with the 1000w power supply this time around.

*P.S. Sorry for hijacking your thead but i had to ask* :)
