I apologize if someone has submitted something like this before, but I don't seem to be able to find a listing using search anywhere. So I have an H8DMU+ (http://www.supermicro.com/Aplus/motherboard/Opteron2000/MCP55/H8DMU+.cfm) which has an MCP55 pro chipset. Other parts of their website claim that its a NForce 3600 motherboard. The work I'm doing requires the system to be able to deal with a network cable being removed and reinserted automatically. Currently when the network cable is removed and replaced the connection does not come back. However the card does detect that a link has returned.
ethtool -i eth1 returns
driver: forcedeth
version: 0.62-Driver Package V1.23
firmware-version:
bus-info: 0000:00:09.0
I'm running REL5.0
with a 2.6.18 kernel
As a note there is another network card that we have added to the box to connect to another network, it recovers just fine from being disconnected.
