So..well, whats the best card out right now?

is it worth upgrading to a 9800GTX from a 8800GTX?
what about a 9800GX2 over a 8800GTX?

Or is the 8800 still the best?

the best single gpu card is still the 8800 Ultra.....So no it's not worth it to downgrade to the 9800gtx. Also the 9800gtx is a very noisy card.... http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/1356/17/page_17_temperature_and_sound_tests/index.html

Since you overclock your 8800gtx, I would keep it. I'm waiting for the 9900GTX to be release in august ...and don't forget the new ATI to be release this summer that should obliterate both the 9800gx2 and 9800gtx.

As for the 9800GX2, yes it will give you better performance if you don't mind a increase in noise in load mode.

I was thinking about selling my 2 9600GT's to buy a single 8800GTX/Ultra. It looks like Newegg only has that $700 BFG Watercooling ready Ultra. The only thing that's stopping me from doing the switch is that 2 9600GT's are as fast as a single 8800GTX.

I think the 8800GTS 512 running at 678Mhz factory from evga, that I just bought, is the absolute best single GPU card. Got it for $240 after rebates. Basically same performance as 9800GTX for $100 less.

And yes, please ignore my sig.... its for my old system, not the one I'm building.

Not worth it. No use buying a GTX/Ultra now unless you get a good deal on them.

It not worth a upgrade unless you have a 7900 ,you would be better off just getting another 8800GTX and run it in SLI.

Keep your 8800GTX.

Edit: I've been racking my brain trying to decide what card to buy for around $200.00 and I've already got a damn headache. Ugh! I'm so confused!
