Band of Brothers coming to Blu-ray in 2008

Wow, that's a lot sooner than I expected. I'm excited!

In the latest issue of Home Media Magazine, writer John Latchem interviewed Sofia Chang, Senior Vice President of Marketing for HBO Video with regards to the upcoming release of the mini-series 'John Adams' for DVD (no Blu-ray release has been announced at this time). At the conclusion of the interview, he asked when the popular 'Band of Brothers' mini-series would see Blu-ray release. She replied that a version was in the works for release later this year.

If you like Saving Private Ryan, you'll love Band of Brothers. It's extremely well filmed and the stories' excellent also can be pretty emotional (especially at beginning of episodes where old veterans talk about their experiences). It's down to all details and seems very real and personal.

Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks are executive producers. Tom Hanks wrote one and directed other episodes.

Band of Brothers is amazing.

Easily the best war story I've ever seen on film. The best part is that the episodes are consistent. I don't think there were any episodes I didn't like. The fact that it was based on real people and their experiences made it even better.
