590 verbal /710 math GPA 3.25 didn't get me into Dartmouth. Ended up with a MA in Creative Writing from Iowa State.

Because he's trying to make you feel better. :D
No, seriously, they make those practice things hard so you sink $$$ into prep courses.
They make them harder than the real thing? I didn't know that. If that is true, then great! :D

I remember SAT's....only took them once b/c my college (that I'm at now) told me I didn't need to take them again to get a better score. :D I was just too lazy to take them again.
I got a 1340 though.

I got a 1340 though. Which college are you in right now?
By the way, I feel real bad now. :(
I mean, I get a 890 while everyone else is scoring above 1200.

Heh, I'm at VCU. Nothing big, but I like it. And don't worry about a computer score, I've heard they are more difficult also. I went up over a hundred points from my Pre-SAT.

Taking it tomorrow *shudder* Why'd you have to be a bastard and bring it up? ;)
ACT though I got a 32 on. 35 on math and verbal, and 30 on science. I've still yet to have a science class, and I hadn't taken trig when I took that, so I'm not in agony over it.

I got something like a 685 on the verbal and 635 on the math for a 1,320. No I didn't bother to take them again...prep for them or anything. One just needs to take them to get in some colleges (as they want scores).
In actuallity though, they aren't really much better then many IQ tests for telling how smart a person is, or how well they'll do in life. I still can't believe when I was taking Psych 101 and we were going over IQ tests and why one shoudln't take their results at face value; one student got all upset because I actually scored higher then her 143. I guess she got used to always scoring the highest on tests hitherto, she couldn't quite face someone getting a better score from hers.
While she was getting a bit uneasy, speaking a bit faster then normal, hyper ventalating, and going like "it can't be true, I must be the smartest"; all I could do was try to tell her "what did the teacher just tell the class about these tests being rather irrelavent because..." That I was so non-chalant about the whole thing only made her more on edge.
The only way you need to be really nervious is if a school you want to go to demands a really high score. Most colleges today look at more then SAT scores anyhow...and doing well on the interview and writting a good admissions paper can be more important with some...

I remember when I used to go for straight A's all the time, not worth it guys:lol:
I didn't score well and I make good money now. So don't worry about it. You can get the education you want. It is all a matter of effort.
