I just picked up another 8800GTX for SLI and benchmarked 3DMark06 in both Vista 32bit and XP Pro 64bit. Vista is over 1,000 points less then XP. Is this normal? I expected Vista to be on par. I'm using the new 174.74 drivers- SLI is definately enabled and I installed Service Pack 1 for Vista.
Here are the scores:
Vista Home Premium 32bit
10,836
2.0 4743
3.0 6131
CPU 2017
Windows XP pro 64bit
12,041
2.0 5181
3.0 6692
CPU 2328
Any ideas?

Uhh... not true, my score in XP32 is faster than Vista x64. It's not x64 vs x86 that makes it faster, it's XP that is faster than Vista regardless of what version you run.

Yeah true XP is faster than vista (x86 or 64bit)
However, on my setup, XPx64 is faster than XP , maybe because i have 4 GB of RAM that XP cannot see them all while XPx64 can

The issue here is SLI. Don't blame Vista. With a single 8800GTX my Vista versus XP scores are within 100 points.
skoprowski, just out of curiosity you should compare scores in single card mode. I suspect you'll see much closer scores.

Just curious, what are your specs? I've seen some mixed results with 3d mark scores in Vista vs. XP. It probably depends on the system.
