Man, I need to check my email account on Fyremoon more often. This was sent to me on April 1st and I just now got around to getting it...:(

I'm sorry to tell you all this, but I haven't been able to find a job. I can no longer afford this, so I will have to take drastic measures and pull the server.

I feel rotten. :(

I've known John (aka "Fyremoon") for quite a while now. He's from the UK and one of the most selfless, outgoing, and downright generous guys I've ever met. The state of the IT and Telecommunications industries are so horrible that many of these fine folks are losing their jobs one right after another...and John has been one of many casualties of such downsizing.

Fyremoon's been my host for 3-4 years and I never paid a nickle. John wouldn't have it. He'd give money away to someone in need faster than he'd accept it...even if he was in need. And with this news comes my own announcement - my rant page is going offline with Fyremoon.

The loss of a webhost doesn't bug me. Hell, I'm not even bothering at the moment looking for a new corner of the world for my website, to tell the honest truth. Changing hosts isn't anything that's new to me (from GeoCities to Xoom to Fyremoon) over the years.

What bugs the hell out of me is I'm absolutely powerless to help a friend in need who has helped so many others, including me (though not financially). My circumstances are just as grim as his own...:(

That sucks:( it seems the world just wants to throw sh*t at everyone and everything at the moment. I hope things pick up for both you and him.

Watching TechTV today and they said something like the IT industry, especially in Silicon Valley, is suffering from a 14 or 17% unemployment rate or something like that. Then again, maybe it was only 8% but...still...that's quite high.

There seems to be less "Win A Video Card" contests lately, too.

I forgot where, but I entered into a win a Ti 4600 contest today:D

like always, will never win it:lol: oh well, don't need it.

I had a free host a while back, then the hosting company changed its terms and I couldn't remote link, they put a 100kb cap on file size, totally gay whats happenning.

And meanwhile, there are those who get into the nickle and dime everything fan club. It's at the point where one can't even view an article on the Albuquerque Journal's website without a payed for subscription (never mind CNN's just view videos that are probably being shown on cable anyhow).

Then there are more and more places (at least here) trying to nickle and dime people for parking. It's rediculous that a person can end up having to pay $3-$6 down town, just to run to one store, and be out of there in 5 minutes. And of course, most stores can't validate parking. I avoid that part of town like the plauge.

Oh, and public transportation, well our "illustrious mayer" continues to raise taxes while cutting service, including laying more drivers off, cutting more routes, etc...and the bus service already sucks the big one. No thank you.

Oh, but to take the cake...I still find it a bit to swallow (albeit perhaps not unexpected) that after the war in Iraq, Hillary Rosen would find it more important to have the RIAA draft new IP legislation for Iraq, then these people being able to stand on their own 2 feet again.

Some greedy bastages are real scum bags...
