I posted this at rage3d and decided I may as well spam the info here, too.

At NewEgg (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?DEPA=&submit=Go&description=radeon+9600): $205

enpc (http://www.enpc.com/cgi-bin/enpc/100-437002.html): $199 plust shipping, about $205 total.

ecost (http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?dpno=158331): $177 (yeah, right :afro2: )

direct from ati (https://apps.ati.com/naorder/index.asp): $199 plus $15-20 shipping

Exactly when people can actually get one is still up in the air. NewEgg says eta of May 20, enpc claims to have them in stock, and ecost wants you to call to find out.

Enpc (http://www.enpc.com/cgi-bin/enpc/100-437002.html) has lowered their price to $194 which includes ground shipping. They also still claim to have it in stock. (Ecost is still at 177 but wants you to call them to see if it's in stock.)

If this is true then the price erosion has already begin which is kind of surprising. I'd expected it to stay at 199 for a while.

Anbody here have any experience with enpc or ecost? I'm guessing both places are a bit on the no frills side...

The fx 5600 is facing tough competition on performance, image quality, and price. nVidia is going to have to rely on their lingering legacy and reputation to sell cards for now, because their cards can't sell themselves against this competition.

The 5600 Ultra seems like it going to be a great card. Well, the 256mb one anyway. ;)

If the NV 35 comes with 256megs it's going to be sweet. :D

There is no way in hell I would buy a 9600 when the 9500 pro is a lot faster.

The Radeon 9500Pro an't alot faster..... well not when it's over clocked :D Anyway a Radeon 9500 & 9600Pro's when overclcoked offer pretty much the same speed. Although the 9600 offer unlimted shader instrutions and OpenGL2.0.
