View Full Version : I had 10 updates show up today for Vista x64 SP1
Finally, some updates! After installing SP1, the only updates I had were for Windows Defender.
Must have been sorta major, there was a 1 of 3 Stages install before reboot and after.

QFT!!!
I was also overjoyed when I saw these new updates!!! Updates FTMFW!!!!
Yip i got them as well, i wonder what they update?
I've just bought an OEM copy of Vista Home Premium 64 with SP1 inc. on the disk. The strange thing is the disk was made in Feb. Microsoft must have had SP1 ready for a good while before public release. Just installed these updates too.
Anyhow, the point is it's running better than ever. Seems just as fast as XP ever was (please, no flaming) and everything is feeling nice and snappy. And yes, that's after installing all my usual software (quite alot) and drivers.
I'm doing some HD file transferring and CD ripping as I type and getting a 120mbps write speed on the Raptors.
Loving Vista ATM :D

tbh that's been my general Vista experience. it's always been as snappy as XP for me. file transfers were the only thing that bugged me and SP1 fixed that. :)

It is running very well for me too :D Visual Studio 2005 Pro of all things is a bit slow compared to XP other than that and losing a few meaningless benchmark points its great!
Edit: I just checked... I got 1 update today :wtf: but then again I just did a fresh install 2 days ago
I can't wait to install Vista 64bit, its on the way.

Also until SP1, icons were slow to load in some folders, which bugged me. I've had Vista since day one. At first, gaming wasn't really a option so I dual booted. By June ish I got rig of dual boot and haven't missed XP since.

what is special about this time, is that this is first set of updates released for Vista SP1 since it went RTM on January 25th.
