i find it funny that an FX5200 ultra costs the same as the FX5600

I returned my PNY 5800 ultra cause the fan would shut off and downclock in some games and screensavers.

mmmm... um... all I can say about this is... :drooling:

if this price goes down or a cheaper OEM version becomes available, and if Planetside needs more than my TI4400 can handle, then maybe I'll consider the 5600 256meg

I completely agree. The Ti4200 is one great card...too bad it does not support dx9.0. I hope nvidia will engineer around the same GF4 Architecture that support directx 9.0 or maybe the worst case thru software mode...... Just my 25 cents opinion

I'm having the same problem with my PNY.
But it's only happens on screensavers.
What games did your PNY mess up on?
I like my card and newegg "where i got it" does not have any
5800's at all now.
I'm not to up to return it. Where did u get your cards at?
I wish PNY had a support# or email address. I would think a simple BIOS upgrade would fix it.
I wonder why the PNY cards seem to be the only ones doing it?

i had a PNY and the fan just did not want to work (during games, screensavers, you name it...although it worked when i booted up, but that was it), which eventually led to its demise

Anyone seen a 5800 Ultra with VIVO? The LeadTek was supposed to have VIVO, but I can't find any on the market.
