OK so I'm getting a little frustrated here.
My EPoX 8KHA+, after years of trustworthy and crash-free service, has blown one capacitor and another looks like it's ready to go. So I need a new motherboard.
I really like the A7N8X Deluxe, but my problem is, how can I tell from the spec if its a revision 2.0 board? Newegg.com says that the board supports the 400MHZ FSB, but is that, in itself, proof that I will get the C1 core? I quote...
"Asus Motherboard for AMD Athlon/XP/Duron Processors, Model# A7N8X Deluxe Retail
Supported: Socket A AMD Athlon/XP/Duron (support AMD XP3000 "Barton")
Chipset: NVIDIA nForce2 SPP, nForce2 MCP-T
FSB: 400/333/266MHz"
I'm not planning on buying a Barton today, In fact I'm just going to throw my trusty XP1900+ in there with my old PC2100 DDR too. This is sort of a last minute, don't want my CPU in the way when my 8KHA+ goes for good kind of deal if you couldn't already tell. But that definatly doesn't mean that I wouldn't like to have a Barton one day. So it's important that I make sure I get the PCB 2.0.
What kind of power supplies are the nForce boards asking for? I have a 425W now, that going to be enough?
Like I said, this is sort of emergency crunch buying, so I'm trying to settle my usually research happy nerves on this very impulse driven purchase. Any know problems with this board?
Thanks fellas.
