New motherboard on the way

Ordered a new motherboard today. I know mine is already good, but I need to upgrade the wifes pc ;) I was on a tight budget, so I looked and looked, read and read, and came up with the ECS L7S7A2. After reading about it and getting feedback, Ive decided to put that on ein my system and put the KT2Ultra in the wifes pc. I should be ordereing a Barton2500+ and 512mb PC3200 or 3500 ram, so the wife will be basiclly be getting everything in my pc bar, the Audigy2 and GF3 :p

Also I will be doing a volt mod so I can raise the core voltage, memory should be ok, Ive read this is a good little overclocker too :)

^^ Nice one, but mine has to tie me over further than Novemeber :p
I hope a Barton2500+ (should be overclocked) will run DoomIII, DeusX2, HL2 etc, upgrading my videcard around Christmas.

As no one seems really interested in this board, maybe cos its ECS and SIS ;) I thought I would show some results coming from this underdog :afro: I will be ordering my Barton2500+ and Ram Wed/Thurs, will be taking my folks around France for about a week and will then be playing with my new toys ;)

Smokey...word of caution -

Be carefull with that board!!

Look at the rear of the socket.

Notice how close that voltage regulator coil sits to the socket corner?

This could be a problem with large heatsinks.

Some folks had to cut fins off thier HSFs because of this damned regulator getting in the way. :eek:

Yeah thanks for the heads up there Psy ;) But I believe that there are only new Revs of the board that dont have that, and a couple of other little changes :)
