I own HL2 on Steam, but have it uninstalled right now, and I'd rather not download 3.5GB of data just to answer the following question : Did Valve ever get around to adding the features to the PC version of HL2 and Episode 1 they added to the 360 version? This includes HDR, detail mapping, motion blur, additional dynamic shadows (cast from the flashlight), and better fire effects, models and lighting. A lot of these appeared in Episode 2. Thanks.

They're def in the Lost Coast level they released for free but I'm not sure about the whole game.

+1
the general HL2 game looks the same.. You can really see some differences after playing episode 2 too.

Try Cinematic Mod 7.0 if you haven't already. It adds HDR to HL2 and masses of detail pretty much everywhere, inc E1 & E2. Very good.

Anyone know if Valve is working on a full retail release?

I really doubt it. Only after they finish ep 3, they might go back and add in the new features, similar to releasing HL 1: source

Valve said they would enhance vanilla HL2 and add the 360 achievements to it and Episode 1, but it's on their low priority list
