After read about it on Neowin and I scanned for new Windows Update, it detected 2 new items for Vista Ultimate Extras with Windows Sound Schemes and Windows Dreamscene Content Pack #3. :D

Wow the leaf dreamscene is beautiful. :)

Better than nothing, I guess.

It's about time.
They need to ramp these out monthly!

I'm actually pretty excited about these. I use the Dreamscences on my HTPC and they look stunning. These new ones are even better. The sounds are cool too.

i like the new dreamscene, the one with the leaf

sound scheme is cool as well, back in windows 98 i used to change them often, but stoped in xp, first sound scheme change since xp !

Same here. In XP I used no sounds.

Hope we get some more schemes...

Very sweet and it seems the other language packs are ready aswell!!!

The leaf is cool, but is it really feasible to run these 24/7? Will it kill my GPU? Affect performance in games? I run Vista x64.

i was running the leaf all day yesterday, before playing AC, i right clicked on the desktop and press paused, didn't affect the game in any way

Sound schemes are not that impressive

Wow. Microsoft outdid themselves in this one. I mean, I agree with them. I think they should only release 1 extra a year.

04-23-08, 02:07 PM
I don't do sounds as well. And, I wish I could find the person who made the default for the "click" noise to be played whenever a folder is opened or address entered into IE. :fu:

How about they release a hi-def video in mpg next time. Damn...talk about wasted money on Ultimate Edition. lol They better release something worthy of being "ultimate" soon or I see a big lawsuit coming. They should have had an idea of stuff to release by now, instead we get some sounds and more useless desktop backgrounds.

04-23-08, 03:41 PM
Well I gues they had some tools in preview, I hope they release them soon as Extra

04-23-08, 04:34 PM
* BitLocker
* 20+ downloadable language packs
* all media / sound goodies
* Dreamscene
* both 32/64bit media (at least in retail kit)

BitLocker itself is worth the price difference between Home Premium and Ultimate editions. 3rd party whole-drive-encryption (WDE) tools cost much more. And unlike 3rd party tools, Bitlocker works great even on my Adaptec RAID-5 array.

I thought Dreamscences, like Aero turn off while a full screen 3D is running.

For those who want to see the Dreamscenes.

Sorry for the quality, Virtualdub is being a PITA working with the Divx codec tonight, had to use a crappier one.

Several of those would make someone having to urinate go crazy, so be sure you don't have to go while your staring at your screen or you just might find yourself in a puddle.(nana2)

is there a way to hide all the language packs at once? or is the only way to manually hide each one by right clicking? it's really obnoxious, not gonna lie. all 37 of them

Hey, I have only one dreamscene and none available for download via windows update.. :( So where should these dreamscenes be located?

EDIT: Forgot that I had to press check for updates in order for the packs to show in windows update, so I hadn't even installed 'em. :D
