More RAM? Meh, I'm not sure if 4 GB would help that much. Or do you mean 1GB -> 2GB?
I've gotten too addicted to the clean look that I just can't go back, though.
Do any of those previously listed have support for 64-bit? For the few viruses that will actually work on it, lol? Last I checked, AVG was the only one next to Avast!

1->2 helps ofcourse.
But 2->4 helps too, but not as much as from 1->2.
And most AV's support 64 bit these days. I actually don't know one which is not supported by x64 anymore.

I've been thinking about getting another 2GB, but OPC says that it would wreck havoc on the overclock if I tried using 4 sticks. So I just have to find 4GB alone, then, I guess.
Really? That is pretty sweet, I might look into some other ones, but I'll have to say that AVG pwns.
While we are on the topic, is Defender enough of an anti-spyware program or?

SEP better than SAV 10, let's see....
When I deployed SEP 11 (first version) on an SBS 2003 server, when I opened the Console, it almost took 800MB of RAM not to mention if you run the Tomcat DB it takes about 350MB of RAM to run it. So, I had to up that machine to 4GB of RAM (needed to anyway). Then, after a few days, there was a bug that killed all shares on a server and didn't allow access to Explorer without a reboot on the server running SEPM. Took out a DC at two different clients. Had to deploy that fix until MR1. Then, I was setting up POP3 on a new user account and messages could not be sent and Symantec was saying that the connection was ended before the message could fully be sent. Only way to send emails was to disable SEP.
Yep, a great product. :rolleyes:
I'll take AVG 8.0 any day of the week and twice on Sunday over both.

Use Firefox and never see any spyware at all. But ESET also has spyware filter works pretty good.
Someone should change the name of this thread to "Let's compare anitvirus programs" :thumbdwn: I was actually interested in what people thought about the few services nforce drivers place at startup. Oh well . . . .

Right now, I've unchecked all of them, no issues so far.

P.S. AVG 8.0 sucks poop. Stupid anti-spyware built-in now, so it is like having UAC all over again!
