I just took my Core2 out of the socket and sure enough I booted up and my GPU started doing all the work and now my PC is 10x faster.

The only place where the GPU is significantly faster than a CPU is in gaming. We need CPU's go grow to the multi-core parallel architecture of the GPU. If that happens at some point, we'll be in a position where GPU's can start to be phased out. Of course, memory bandwidth and speed would have to grow considerably as well. Having memory chips integrated into the GPU is a HUGE plus for overall responsiveness. The GPU has the ability to do so much more number crunching than the CPU.

Reminds me of the Trash-talk that AMD did before they went non-competitive.

Maybe there's hope.
