Yeah I actually agree on the top place.. and the whole video brings back a few memories too, though you can really feel that they're still being pretty fixated on the consoles :)

I really loved '97 because of 3 games: Ocarina of Time, Banjo-Kazooie, and Goldeneye 007.

But I have to admit that 2007 was an absolutely phenominal year. I love how they were playing the Portal theme song in the background while showing the 2007 games, but they made no mention of it outside of mentioning the Orange Box. Seriously what's up with that? Portal could EASILY be in contention for the title of "Best short game of all time" That's how much I liked it. I just hope they don't let us down with Portal 2.

2007 was an amazing year for gamers, especially around September to November. :)

Definitely biased towards console games for their years picked.

No System Shock? Dues Ex? Doom?

Um they mentioned PC games in almost every year... there was no bias. The only ones he didn't were when PC gaming was well crappy. Yeah SS2 and Dues Ex were great but they didn't make the entire year. Did you bother listening, the entire yeah had to be top... not just select games in those years. It's not the top ten best games...

As for GT being more console bias... well theres just more console gaming news on a regular basis. PC Gaming has spikes throughout the year... its not consistent...

Dude, there was like maybe 10:1 ratio console vs pc games mentioned every year. I call that biased.

Then again it was for ALL gaming so its no big deal really, just major disappointed they didn't include some of PC gamings best.

Also 2007 = 8800GTX win ! ><

For PC Users, we defiantly had some great upgrades/games open for us.

Also some of those console games did get ported to PC as well which makes it pretty dam sweet.

Cant wait for Mass Effect ><

8800GTX was released in November of 2006. :)

I agree with their picks overall. 2007 was a pretty awesome year for gaming. The games were far from the best games ever, but I can't remember the last time so many highly rated games were released in such a short amount of time.

2002? :)
Damn, forgot about 2002...

Yeah that was a definite contender for #1 for me because it was so huge for PC gaming, but I don't know if much happened that year for consoles.

In those times, consoles didn't control the market share like they do now. XBL wasn't popular and PSN didn't exist. (?) Unlike now where the devs flip-flop platforms for more money. :thumbdwn: Ah well, good ol' times:(

#1 should be "September-November 2007. 'This was a triumph..."
That would sum up what came in those 3 months.

Remind me a bit about 2002 because I can't remember.

Never said that, did I? I don't mind consoles (never have) I just want an end to bad ports, that's all.

Stop acting like Xion, man.

I wasn't a big fan of all of these but they were all either very popular or just plain awesome games.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Battlefield 1942, Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Arx Fatalis, America's Army, C&C: Renegade, GTA Vice City, Gothic II, Hitman 2, Mechwarrior 4, Medieval: Total War, Metroid Fusion, Metroid Prime, No One Lives Forever 2, Soldier of Fortune II, Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Syberia, Warcraft III... and a crap load of console games that I'm sure were very popular.

558 releases total according to this wiki:

2000-2003 was my "golden era" for PC gaming. There were lots of ups and downs, but that was pretty much where multiplayer online gaming really took off because of broadband and the massive modding community for games like Half-Life and BF1942. I really sank a lot of time into the games of 2002...
