In my system I have the following components:

P4 1.7
intel 850 motherboard
512 rdram
geforce 3

If I add an nv35, do you think I'll get acceptable frame rates on the new games like doom3 or will my system bottleneck the nv35 too much?

is it a Pentium 4 Willamette or Northwood? Can you overclock it?

There where never any Northwood 1.7GHz processors.

If you can overclock the processor to around 2GHz and get a NVIDIA GeForce4, then you should be in good shape.

Didn't know that.

In that case, you will be bottlenecked Daddo49 ... the Willamette is a much less powerful core.

When will newbies like this learn that computers simply don't operate at the speed of thought.
