Get brace for shock & awe campaign, Nvidia will drop a nuclear bomb on ATI.

Massive 64 ROPs... that will absolutely devaste caught ATI off guard with their RV770's pathetic 16 ROPs. (nana2)
GT200 spec:
512bit bus interface
1GB GDDR3
65nm process
432mm2 die size
64 ROPs
240 unified shaders
DirectX 10.1
Shader Model 4.1
Maybe the final clock will still be 695MHz core clock, 2500MHz GDDR3 memory clock and 2250MHz shader clock that will give 160GB bandwidth and 1.6TFLOPS, much faster than RV770's 1TFLOP.

Fake? Sounds too good to be true....

It do not look like fake because recently rumour Nvidia now worked on Forceware 200 series driver for next generation GT200 as well as rumour spec most matched but the 64 ROPs was a big surprise to me.
We have to wait a few weeks in May when Nvidia will reveal more about GT200 to press.
1gb ram...
This is too good to be true...has to be fake...
Price will be insane if it is true..

Too good to be real, but, i hope that it isn't a fake, cause it could be the card that i need to upgrade to 1920x1200.

Stop spreading crap like this! You have no idea what the specs of any of the upcoming gpus are, so please shut up!

What? You want the Rumor Mill section closed down?
That shader clock is pure pr0N
What? You want the Rumor Mill section closed down?
Nope, I just want you to stop going by rumors and saying that the next chip is going to be amazing while the other won't, when the truth is that you don't know what's going to happen. Instead of hoping that amd will fail, you should be doing just the opposite, as we've now got a taste of what the industry would be like if they were to go bankrupt(lot of re branded old products and stupid naming scheme and what not).
And just for your knowledge - the rv770 is rumored to have 32 rops and 32 tmus, not 16.

I wonder if it will be good enough to tackle Crysis @ Highest settings... :captnkill:

+1
That's what we said about the 9800GTX when we were in the Hype stage prior to it's release.

Looks like I'm not gonna' be buying another 8800 or 9800 at all. I'm holding out to see what both nVidia and ATi bring forth next. Whichever one offers the absolute best performance per dollar in the sub-$500 bracket is what I'll be getting. I'm what two of 'em, what every they may be. If GT200 is where it is at, I'll get the card just below the top end card. If RV770 is where it is at, I'll shoot for two of those.
Pretty exciting. And for those saying the specs are too good to be true? Rewind a bit. The actual specs of the G80 were way too good to be true back then. Think about it; 7900GTX had 512MB GDDR3, 24 Pixel Shaders, 16 Vertex, and I believe 16 ROPs. Compare those "ultra awesome specs" at that time to what the G80 was- 128 Stream Processors, 24 ROPs, 384-bit memory bus, and 768MB of GDDR3 RAM. Yeah, it is *very* possible for these specs to be real. It'd just be (judging solely by the specs) a grand-slam GPU like the G80 was (and still is).
More than likely, these'll be the cards to play Crysis on High, with high-res and high AA/AF while not dipping below 30fps. :D I'll take two of 'em please! :p
I think these specs are pretty spot on, but what's making me a bit suspicious is the "forceware 202.37" line, when everyone knows that they changed the naming scheme to Geforce awhile ago. :O

I call BS too ..

At least they're getting the 1gig ram part right, should be more.

Yeah so the latest leaked Geforce driver 174.93 dated 13 April 2008 still called Forceware.

actually look at the ROP numbers: 6 and 4 spacing is slightly larger than other numbers.
same goes for Shader number: 2 and 40 spacing is slightly larger.
Somebody did a really bad photochop job.
64 ROPS.. seriously, how could anyone think thats genuine? 32 maybe, but 64, no.

The 1 Gb version of the 8800gt isn't much more expensive than the 512mb version so it isn't unlikely at all and won't add much to the cost. I'm guessing we'll see two versions - one with 512mb and one with 1024mb of vram.
And yup it's probable that it's going to be only 32rops and not 64(g92 has 16rops). But you never know.

8800GT is mid range, if they priced it any higher they will have a hard time selling it. Also the horse power on it is weak and it shows that the extra ram didn't help much because the hoarse power is still crap...
on a GTX though with more juice on the belt it would help, and it would be a top end card, so that means premium price because thats what anyone will do...a few people will be willing to spend that extra money to just have that in there rig.
Putting 1GB on the 8800GT is as sli as putting the Vista DX10 Read logo on those 8500 cards..

But it just goes to show that adding 512mb of vram won't add much to the price, which means that we're probably going to see 1Gb on the Gt200. :D

It wouldn't add much probably...but price will be premium for it bieng high end and having 1GB. If the 512 was 399, the 1024 version will probably be 499-549.
Nvidia should have just released a GPU with the best of G80 and G92:
24 ROPS
64 TMU's
65nm
384-bit memory bus
768MB RAM
Faster clocks than G80 all round
That would've played crysis alright. But no, we got 9800GTX instead...
If they did that same thing now but with a 512-bit bus and 1GB of RAM I wouldn't be surprised TBH. I'll try and be positive, though. 32 ROPS, more TMU's and shader units would be nice.

New rumors from VR Zone today:
VR-Zone got to know that the GeForce 9900 GTX card is 10.5\" long, full height and dual slot and the cooler is TM71 from CoolerMaster. Dubbed GT200 or D10U, we heard that this architecture might be dual chip with TDP up to 240W.

Dual Chip?!?!
