Hmm...for some strange reason these dont work with my 9800GTX. I guess nvidia forgot to add the 9800GTX in the inf file....strange.

They left out 9800GTX accidentally, you have to manually add it to the inf.

Yeah, it works after you do that. But how could nvidia forget to add thier newest card to the inf...lol....ooops!

Well they mysteriously left out the files needed in the SLI profile to make Assassin's Creed work with SLI in DX9....

I installed these drivers. Then ran the benchmark utility within Crysis. Couldn't believe that my framerate was up to over 30 fps at 1400 x 900. With other drivers, I would benchmark at 18-20 fps...Now with the new drivers...30-32fps. Running 2X AAA and everything but shadows on High...

Maybe there is hope!

I installed them and then ran a few minutes of Assassins Creed. No problems found.

Right and you wont. You must be running SLI or a 9800GX2 and you have to compare DX9 in Vista to XP. Then you would see performance not even close to dx9 in XP - but I figured out how to fix it. You have a single GTX you wouldnt be affected lol.

They were giving me trouble with SLI in games. CoD4, Colin McRae DiRT, Assassins Creed, they all stop working after a few minutes. I rolled back to the older version and everything works perfectly again.

Maybe I'll hold off on theses if there are SLi problems.

I'll be honest SLI I dont think SLI works right in Vista. I had fixed an issue with SLI in Assassin's Creed using DX9 it was finally on par with XP. However, when a new area loads the SLI still show SLI working but my FPS drop from 80 - 90 FPS back to 50's. I have to quit out and restart to get it working again. But this was after tweaking the profile to get it working properly with SLI in the first place. The bars were working but performance was the same as single card. I'm hoping Nvidia can sort this all out, I dunno if I have the patience to wait for driver fixes. I might just jump over to XP x64 for awhile and let the drivers mature.

I tried these and I got a 28% decrease in performance on the GPU Benchmark in Crysis at 1920x1200. I think SLI isn't working right, it's like it's only using one of my chips on the 9800GX2.

Definitely going back to 174.74, it was much better...

Might be more then SLI.

I'm running a single 8800 GTS, and with the new drivers, I've had games hang starting, one dx blue screen, and the computer hang once in the final stage of shutdown. Didn't have any of these problems with previous 174 beta version.

I did some more digging and I retract my 28% decrease remark. What I am seeing in Crysis is that if you ALT-ENTER after running the GPU Benchmark and then do it again, the benchmark numbers on both 174.74 and 175.12 increase. After doing this, the benchmarks are now on par.

Has anyone else seen this type of behavior on nVidia drivers? I have heard of ALT-TAB and then ALT-TABBING back causing a performance increase. I thought this issue had been resolved long ago but is this the same thing I'm seeing even now?

Someone mentioned that with Assassin's Creed, but after the alt tab quality looked lower. Wasn't an issue I saw though.
