View Full Version : Newegg has a restocking fee now, that sucks.
Like a dope, I realized that newegg now has a 15% restocking fee for RMA after I bought my $450 Hitachi LCD. Thats like $70 plus shipping just to send the crap back. $70? What do they have to do that they would need $70, I have all the plastics and the box, so they would just have to put it back on the shelf. This bloooooooooooooooooooows.

It already is popular with other online sites. Newegg is one of the later arrivals.
That really sucks :(

Try Ebuyer.com they have a store open in the US now. I don't believe they will have a restocking fee over there. They don't here anyway:)

If I were the CEO of NewEgg, there'd be NO restocking fees for orders that exceed $300. :)
If you're wondering why NewEgg started doing this, it was probably because of rampant abuse, predominately from folks who'd snag one of those Radeon 9500s, try the softmod to see if it worked, and if it didn't, they'd send it back to NewEgg claiming some "incompatibility issue". NewEgg would send them replacement 9500...and the process would keep on going until the customer "hit the lottery" with one that modded correctly.
Newegg has had a restocking fee for a while, but only if you return an item that is not defective.

Exactly - like when my nForce went kaput, I returned it to them and got a complete refund, no restock fee.
