View Full Version : Monitors and color temp

I was having a debate with one of my work mates about the best colour temp setting for your monitor I normally go for a cooler temp (9500K ish) so the colours are more blue. But he says under nomal daylight around 6500K is better for things like gaming etc as the colours look more real. What do you guys run yours at or what do you think.

The sRGB standard is based on a 6500K colour temperature and printers are usually based on this also. So if you use 9300-9500K your printouts are likely to look quite different to what is shown on your screen.

I have changed both my monitors (work and home) to a warmer setting and then re calibrated them and it does make a difference whites look a lot more white.
