New version soon? Safe to install current?

Is it advisable for a relatively FreeBSD n00b like myself to install the Nvidia-drivers? Have done the same procedure in linux, but is concerned about the stability with Nvidia-drivers on FreeBSD. Using 4.8-RELEASE.

Just the regular upgrading-phantom that has possessed me, I guess :rolleyes: . Would you not advice me to do so? I'm not a gamer, so perhaps not bother?

There should be a new FreeBSD driver version soon - it might be best for you to hold off.

I nearly upgraded, but found that it needed a helluva lot linux-specific stuff (lots of rpm's being downloaded) so I just aborted the install deciding to stay with a relatively clean system :)

Will this change in the next version? And what do you mean by soon? In next week or so or in two months? Educated guesses are just fine by me.
