Some more good news, some beta players have let it out of the bag that the executables for DX9 and DX10 are providing better/smoother FPS...in other words, optimizations have taken place! :p I am looking forward to that!

I've only tested the starting zone, but I get about 5-8 fps more with the beta DX10 .exe than I do with the live DX10 version.
Sweet, Patch 2.0 (Rise of the Godslayer) is released tomorrow.
Cant wait.

Lol, First they too the server down for 12 hours to patch and ready the server for the expantion then another 6 hours was added(cant remember the reason) and then another 2 hours was added.
The servers finally went back online at 2:00am. I was drunk and fast asleep by then lol.

Who are you aligning with first?
I've got my assassin and demo moving up with both the scarlet circle and the brittle blade.
I'm enjoying the expansion so far.
Not sure yet, Ive just re-rolled a Demo with the new race to see all the lower lvl areas, gear & quests ect.
Using my double xp potion i got with the CE Tortage is a breeze, I reckon a can get to lvl 19 and finish the destiny/night quests without even going into Tortage day(multiplayer)
I reckon i could do tortage in afew hours with the double xp potion.
(Ive also got a free lvl 50 char i havent used yet, Not sure what to roll though)
Awsome expantion pack, The new areas are just unreal & the new mounts are cool .. Theres some nice new features added now too.
The amount of old players returning and saying how good the expantion pack is and how polished the game in now compared to when they left (1 - 1.5 years ago) is insane.
Loved the game before, Love it even more now with every update.

I was getting crazy MS(ping latency) off and on in the grasslands tonight.
It would go up and then come back down often for no apparent reason.
Yesterday all was fine. When my MS is squared away I have zero problems.
Before the expansion came out this would happen at times around Kesh.
I've seen folks with all sorts of systems of varying power complain about this latency that comes up from time to time.

Hey guys does the expansion DVD have the full game install? If I reinstall from my original DVD will it update me to almost current data files?
I was thinking of a return but it will take forever to get all those updates.

Everyone's game will patch to the expansion. It's about a 3Gb patch. I have the original game. It patched then I went to my AoC account page and paid for the expansion there. Of course the content won't enable fully unless you have an active account and pay for the expansion.
I wouldn't bother with the DVD, the only thing extra you get with it is a puma I believe. If you pay for the expansion from your account page you still get the; ravager, kappa, ring of sleeping demons and tats for your other characters.
The patch really isn't that bad with a decent connection.

I bought the DVD and it has the original game. I'll just do the install and be almost up to date. I have a decent connection, but it seems the Conan servers were slow, it took forever from a original retail box install to get up to date.
What I do to save re-installing or those confounded down load a big ass load of file everything I load up AoC bug, is I have a copy of the Funcom folder with AoC in a backup folder of the last working version with out the bugs.
So even if I reformat the HDD and re-installl the OS, everything is upto date etc! And no need to download and reinstall 10 GB or whatever is patch evrytime!
The AoC directory is a huge asss 33+ GB directory though lol!
I am currently enjoying the expansion with my Necro and barb! Factions!!
Need to start dusting off my other lvl 80s.

Lots of good fun if you haven't started the 6 man groups you really need to this will give you a challenge and some loot. Also will prepare you for bigger raids but you really need a good group as if someone screws up you will wipe a lot. If your on Wicanna and need assistance just shout out in global for Gnu_Raiz and one of my toons will answer. Or if need be just post your toon name and times online we can get a group going or something.
I must say the new areas are hard if you don't have T2 gear so it is much easier to get questing done if your in the same faction, and doing similar quests.
I'm a bit disappointed that the expansion has no middle level content.
You either do the 20-40 area or the 80+ area. That's it. If you have a character between 40-79 (or close to it), there's nothing to see here. :(

I agree good thing about the xpac is even if your character is lower level you still earn AA xp, so by the time your 80 you might be able to then feat into a few perks. But you won't get the token drops or anything else if not in the xpac area's.
Also having off line levels will help people get to 80 quicker, I have a 63 toon that I will pop to 80 after he does his destiny quests. I might level him to 70 then use 10 off line levels to finish the job. I really think that using the OO levels on lower toons is kind of a waste as it is much easier to level then at 70 plus. Since I have a few 80's it's not a big deal to wait a few more weeks or a month to get the needed OO levels.

I think they made the right decision with the way it is otherwise the old world would be very empty :P.

Theres plenty to do between 40-79 ... It was all the lvl 80's complaining they had nothing to do, Now if your a new lvl 80 theres a insane amount to do what with the older content and the new lvl 80 areas.
I thought about getting into AoC. Started playing the free trial. Didn't play a lot though, maybe an hour at most. I went back to Aion, the new content is really nice and the leveling is a lot easier than before.
...US servers will probably get merged soon to only 3 servers.... 1 PVE / 1 PVP / 1 PVP-RP

I played AoC from release and played for months solid ... Then dropped to a couple of times a week, The game had massive potential and if it wasn't rushed out like 1.5 years to early would have been a massive hit imo.
As soon as people started to find the bugs they started dropping like flys.
The graphics, Fight system, Music & the world of Hyboria was just beautiful & just seemed so alive, Like no other mmo Ive played.
Shame .... I will always have good memories of AoC, :(

...at eh end of it...I might just realize why the F did I do that and just give up
