So is nvidia ever going to change their driver matrix and release something else other than 169.25 for the 8800?

you are still running 169.25? wow ;)

just install 175.63 and be done with it, WHQL means nothing at this time.

I might it just seems odd that Nvidia hasn't "officially" updated the driver for over a full quarter now.

Pretty good drivers

Worked much better than 174.16 here
Got some points more on Vantage and 200 points in 06.

DX10 games are flying *-*

true, it is a bit weird, but there is no point in waiting. WHQL was important in early XP days to force many hardware manufactures to make more stable drivers.

over all those years quality has improved, but now it seems more of choir, make the driver, pay some other company to run driver verifier on them, and then release.

for some companies it still matters, but i never had any major issues with nvidia drivers, WHQL or not, so why wait.

I don't know. My machine locks up hard with dreamscenes turned on. I guess that isn't a major issue. It's the only problem I've had with the driver.

i been using dreamscene for 2 weeks with 175 series driver, so far has not locked up.

i really like that new dreamscene with water dripping from a leaf.

It's all right, but the blur in the background makes it a look a bit too unrealistic. I like using the Dream files from Deskscapes, especially this (http://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=1064&libid=50) one. Master Baron makes some nice ones and so does Poubel.

What about Crysis DX9 performance?
Lost around 8FPS AVG in the GPU timedemo compared to the 174.74 drivers!

I locked up once with the 174s, no problems yet with the 175s here either.

I don't like this driver so far. Crysis performance is much slower compared to the 174.74 (lost 10 FPS, especially the MIN frames suffer a lot). And this is the first driver ever that didn't recognize my display properly.
Back to 175.12.

have not tried Crysis yet, but Age of Conan, TDU, Assasin Creed, Witcher, NWN2, etc... all run the same (great)

Where's the "Override Application Settings" Option in AA Mode in the Applications Profiles? :headexplode:

Depends on the application, for example CoD4 for me doesn't let me choose Override, whereas 3DMark Vantage (and most other things I think) do.

I had my first blue screen on an nvxxxx.sys with these drivers since I moved to Vista last August. I was coming out of sleep mode and got the blue screen.

I think I'll go back to 175.16 as I saw no performance difference or any differences otherwise with these.

I tried these and noticed a slight drop in Crysis.
What seems almost certain is that these drivers are not optimized for 3DMark Vantage.

175.63 - H4709
175.16 - H5853

Most of that drop was from the first test. 9.51 fps rather than 17.73.
