Problem with AVG 8.0

For some reason, since I got my AVF 8.0 Free Edition, my computer has problems picking up the Network connection after starting it up, like the little tray icon says connected, but it doesn't work, then after a few seconds, it says "Limited Connection", and after a while my computer blue screens.

I've noticed that if I close AVG right at start up, my computer picks up the connection right away... Any idea what could be doing this? And if not, any idea of a link to the old version of AVG? 7.x? I don't want to have to close my anti virus every time I restart my computer.


And one last thing, maybe some of you could give me the best "Advanced settings" set up for AVG to put the least stress on my computer etc?

I left the settings to default except I do my scans manually. I don't have specs near as good as yours and I can't tell it's even running in the tray.

Try doing a manual scan when you won't be using it.

wow a blue screen? havnt seen avg do that. avg is pretty nice and none offensive, although when it updates during the first boot of the day, it really thrashes the HD the entire time delaying getting my programs open.
