Got a deal on it. Got it refurbished like new for $1700

C2D 2.2ghz
dual Nvidia Geforce 8700m with Ageia physx card
4gb ram
1920x1200 LCD with truelife 17''

It accidentally came with two notebooks (with product manuals and noise canceling headphones and cleaning cloths) so all the merrier!

Haven't figured how to change the color of the speakers and touchpad yet...

I need help... my laptop's GFX cards are doing very crappy for some reason.

3dmark Vangage tells me that something is malfunctioning and that's why I get like a 900 graphics score isntead of a 5600 or whatever it should be.

I have the latest drivers from nvidia... don't know what I'm doing wrong,.

Latest WHQL or latest video cards?

the nvidia driver keeps crashing and I get 9fps in WoW.

I have SLI enabled and even when I disable SLI it still sucks.

Something's wrong....

Ok so here's the jist: Dell sucks. They don't have a proper SLI driver out for the M1730. Jesus christ...

Does Dell have a driver for that laptop on there support page ?

Dells driver download page shows
R175522.exe for 8800M GTX SLI
R167359.exe for 8700M GT SLI

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=XPS_1730&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=

Have you tried these ?

I'd def get a laptop like this only if it had lower resolution and a smaller screen.

I got a XPS with the LightFX (see sig for specs) go to dell's website and enter your service tag number and download Dell QuickSet.
This will allow you to change the LED's via Software, otherwise you can change them via the BIOS.

Trust me. They don't work. SLI is messed up on this laptop.

Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't that be an Nvidia issue?

Nvidia's drivers for Vista are pants, even though they are a damn sight better than the initial releases today. See if there are any beta's floating around that work under Vista.

Tried 175.63. Sli disabled, WoW gets 40-60fps. SLI enabled, WoW gets 13-16 max FPS.
