I just changed my Antec case from a P182 to an Antec Nine Hundred. Now my GPUs are idling around 46C. Previously, on my P182, the top and bottom GPUs were idling around 68C. I am using the stock case fans set to low on the Nine Hundred.

Along with the stock case fans, I did install an extra, high CFM 120mm output fan on the P182, i wonder if that caused an airflow disruption or a static air tunnel bypassing the GPU's.

I'm not certain, but I don't think that those two cases are very different from my Antec SX1040B. I read online where one person did some testing with modding the case with fans at various positions. I do not think that any of the locations that he tried made anything worse, but surprisingly, The side fan made hardly any improvement. When he placed a 80mm fan in the top of the case, the temps dropped several degrees. What that would have to do with your situation, I don't know, but I thought it worth mentioning.

I cleaned my GTX's with canned air, but it was only slightly dirty. That could account for a few degrees.
On another subject, I think the Nine Hundred case will collect dust faster than a vacuum cleaner. It has no filter and a lot of air is moving in and out.

Good air flow FTW!

Moving to the 900 dropped my temperatures dramatically also, the air flow is really, really good in these cases. The wire management sucks but, I'll be cutting a couple of holes in the motherboard tray and running the wiring behind the motherboard soon to fix all of that

The Tri-Cool fans that came with my case were crap.

I dropped my GPU temp by about 20C by adding a slot exhaust fan under my 8800GTX. The P180 definitely has air flow problems for the GPU, but one of those fans will fix it.

Yip, i remember when i got my 900, my overall temps(cpu, gpu, hdd & case)dropped by quite a large amount!

Other than that big ass 200mm fan, there is really nothing else special about the 900. So i think there is a big air flow design problem with the P180/P182.

Just to add, before i got my 900 my older cases airflow was pretty poor around the gpu area, i bought a Vantec Dual Fan Card(see below)it knocked about 10c of my cards temp!(sold it when i got my 900).

It has a slider on the back so you can adjust the speed of the two fans, really good cooler, ive had quite afew slot coolers in the past but that was by far the best one.(i actually wish i never sold it :()

Interesting! Sounds like the case that I'm thinking of buying:
