Ladies and gentlemen I now own a 2000 silver Pontiac GTP. Its fully loaded with leather heated seats, power everything, a 1000 dollar Bose sound system and more. Not only that but this thing moves. Its 240 Hp and 285 lb. ft. of torque is more than sufficient for eating ricers. Plus this model year was the last model to come with sport shift. Which when engaged rides the needle right to redline before every shift. I will start modding it out after my extended warranty ends. Kill stories to come :D.

The supercharged 3800 is one BAD MOTHER!!!

I was -> <- that close to buying one when I got my Jetta, but I have the nagging addiction to shuffling the gears myself. Other then that, there is not a darn thing wrong with the GTP. In fact, we are looking for a new car for my finacee, and I could DEFINATLY find it in my heart to buy her the same thing you got. With the caveat that I get it on the weekends ;)

I want, I want. If I do get a GTP though it'll probly be the '97 or '98 edition as it was considered an add-on package during those years so I wouldn't have to pay extra insurance for the supercharger.

I think it's made by Eaton too...at least my friend's 1998 GTP came with an Eaton supercharger stock.

Yeah, the GTP uses the M90 that UDawg linked too..thats why I thought it was soo dang funny :D

The M90 gets used on EVERYTHING. Mercedes-Benz uses it, Jaguar uses it and GM uses it. It's a good quality piece.

One of my other friends just recently bought one of the fairly rare Turbo Grand Prix cars. They were only made in 1989 and 1990 and were shipped off to McLaren where they were given turbochargers. Hehe those do sound nice. Too bad it's only on the 3.1L engine though, so it still gets beat by a GTP, but still it sounds quite nice.

hehe very nice man congrats on the speed baby :cool3: I'm trying to wrk my way there goin' all-motor so we'll see how it goes.

btw, I don't think mods to certain parts of yer car void the entire warranty, I know at least w/ GM it doesn't. You may wanna look into that if yer that anxious :naughty:

I think the SLP performance parts are approved for use on warrantied vehicles.

But it's possible that the extended warranty isn't through GM but another company. That happanes alot.

30K dollars is alot to ask for a 7 year old R33 GTS Automatic. Unless you plan on spending 95k for a 2001 R34 Vspec II automatic.

How do I know so much? Only 1 company in the United States can sell them, and thats all they have. It takes about 9 weeks for them to get new cars for Japan, and they just got these two in 2 weeks ago.

So I was on my way to the movies I am just crusing along and a ricer comes up behind me he is flashing his highbeams. I guess 120 isn't fast enough. He had a big wing and a far tip. So I hit the gas a took off a about up to 150. This put quite a bit of space between us so I let off. He does his little high beam flash again after he catches up. So I shake my head change lanes flip on pref. shift and roll down my window all at the same time. When rice boy pulled up beside me I turned smiled and waved and punched it. I could hear his little far tip going nuts. Too bad for him he doesn't realize how little horsepower he really has. So after putting a good 10 cars on him I slowed down. Why did this guy even bother? Cause he thought his honda is fast thats why.


I bet when he tells his friends about this he will say "Some twin turbo pontiac with a 300 shot of nnnnnnnnnnnaaaaaaaawwwwwwwws barely beat me." :rolleyes:

I don't know much about Pontiacs and even less about the GTP but I know it comes with 3 different engines. I didn't realize the specs he cited that it had the Eaton on it. Don't know why it was funny but ok, I can take it. :)

You know what really gets the ricers is my 454 1 ton. I use it for hauling stuff. It is a two tone brown and orange 89 chev but it is beefy. Ricers pull up next to me and want to race so I punch it and blow them off the line. Nothing makes them mad like being beat by a ugly stock work truck. What dopes. A 1.8 liter against a v8. LMAO!!! It isn't that their cars are slow for what they are. It is that they pick the wrong class to drag against. As if bolting a coffee can to your muffler and making a dying cat sound from it makes your matchbox fast. LMAO!

You gotta understand...I'm in a car club (WaterWerks)..we find it hilarious when we can get people to actually believe us when we tell them to check their exhaust bearings and headlight fluid :D

Excellent vehicle choice. That 3800 V6 is a workhorse that'll last forever and a day. Supercharger is just a nice bonus.

Um I live in Canada. All speeds reported here are in Km/h. Silly. Also I think speed limits are really an abused way to generate revenue.

THAT'S why there are speedlimits. Stupid kid in fast cars doing 110MPH. He learned his lesson. License revoked for a year and a lawsuit pending from the owners of an SUV he slammed into after bouncing off a retaining barrier.

Well I can't account for stupid kids in ferraris but I can control my meger car. I drive more kms in a year than most people do in 2. Hell I rack up a good 60,000 k by the end of the year. And this is in all types of vehicles that include the largest Vans and trucks you can buy to small and midrange cars etc. Just about every type you can imagine. I have not been in one accident. Not once and I drive at 140 km/h at almost all times taking weather into account. I don't know how it for you yanks over there but over here the fast lane moves 130 plus. I guess us Canucks have less time than you guys. ;) And this just in you should look it up. Did you know that in Germany where there are many many many roads (as in NOT just the autobahn) that do not have speed limits. The point of this? They have less accidents than we do over here. Its just a fact.

People should learn to control their vehicles before they try to take them to a fast speed. Its not my problem they can't. I will just do what I do all the time. Avoid these ****ing idiots. Like the people that don't turn their signals on and merge right into me. Yeah I'm not in their blind spot I am right beside them. I could make eye contact...if they would just look over.
